You know everyone has the right to their own opinion, and they all have the right to air that opinion, I just wish that W.A.S.P's who live in the big city and only get their immigration problem news from liberal television would just SHUT THE H#LL UP. Most of us who support this bill do with good reason, we are sick of losing livestock, and are tired of sleeping in shifts because of the illegal activities in the area, this is America, d@mnit, we shouldn't have to live like this. Mexicans here and in Mexico are rather upset by the recent enactment of stricter anti-illegal alien laws by Arizona's governor.
In light of the following, that position demonstrates the typical double standard used by race-hustlers and assorted something-for-nothings. Read on, and read it to the end.
New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom or you will miss the message...
1 There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
2. All ballots will be in this nation's language.
3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office
6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land... options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9.. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted &, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

I am shocked - the two most important words of this law that are *ALWAYS* ignored, and should send a shiver down *EVERY* American's spine are "reasonable suspicion". One of the stongest terms to keep a government-state from opressing the people is the 4th Amendment right to establish *PROBABLE CAUSE*. When our legislature takes efforts to supplant the U.S. Constitution by inserting "REASONABLE SUSPICION", I want to just scream! Imagine... once the foot is in the door, all of us are subject to being stopped and questioned just by being "suspicious". On this fact alone, SB1070 should immediately be declared unconstitutional.
I wish people would get off their high-horse and stop bringing Obama into this. It is a State law, and the Federal government has every right to step in and question the role of a State when it is questioned that a State is stepping into Federal responsibility. This is what sparked the Civil War folks.
That said - yes, the Federal government should do more to protect our borders. Yes, the Federal government should reimburse for States' expenses. Yes, teh Federal government should establish a fair, and more simple means for citizens of other nations to *legally* come into the country.
This is not an Obama-caused issue - it has been allowed to grow and fester for generations... If the "Party of No" and the "Tax and Spend" will quit their bickering and work together on this (and the many, many other problems facing our nation), we would be much better off.
I do agree with parts of what you say. But as a war veteran, reasonable suspicion saved my life plenty of times. Reasonable suspicion kept me on my toes while growing up in NYC.

Well, the system couldn't be easier. People think that ommiting answers to questions will not matter. I worked for 3 years for the refugee and immigration board. Everytime someones application is delayed is because of a few simple reasons:
1. ommission of answers
2. lying on their application - we do investigate claims.
3. Have a criminal record - we do investigate applicants.
(There are pardons provided for people who have been "clean" for 5 years.)
4. Have been deported from the US before or having over stayed their visas.
I myself brought my wife into this country, it took me 8 months and this was before I knew the system. Currently, it costs roughly $1,700 and it takes approximately 16 months to process the application. Why do they pay a coyote $5,000 to come over here? desperation? they are criminals? who knows...
BTW...what is Mexico doing to secure their borders, why are we to blame for everything?
I see where you are coming from they should get papers. However I have checked on getting papers and the lawyers keep telling me that they have to be married or have children here to be considered for receiving papers. Then they have to go back to there country for at least 6months well when you are married and have children that are small, how do you support them when your main source of income is the father that is going to be sent back to there country. You see all of the Hispanics that I know come here because they are not able to make the money they need in there country and this is not there fault for being born in another country. Imagine it was you it is very difficult to get the money in Mexico or other poor countries because they work all day for 20 US dollars. Everyone wants to live in the Land of Opportunity to have a better life for them and there family none of us can help where we were born but I think we all deserve the opportunity to make a better life for our selves no matter where we are from no one needs to live in fear including us I think if the US offered th Hispanics the option to apply for papers while in there countries and if they have no criminal record give them the option to repay the money for papers with in a certain time period and sure charge interest like a bank would for having to wait but I think this way would eliminate a lot of the issues we face today be cause all the immigrants i know would love to have papers to be here and not live in fear.
Granted, there are real problems relating to the presence of the undocumented, but in every source I've read, including stats from the federal gov't., when all aspects are taken into account--hospitals, schools, law enforcement, taxes, etc.--there is still a substantial economic benefit to the U.S./AZ economy. (The existence of a permanent underclass with virtually no rights is a whole other issue.) Whether anybody likes the fact that there are a lot of undocumented workers living in this state or not, the reality is that their wholesale deportation would gut the tourism, hospitality and restaurant industries which are the main drivers of our economy.
A bill like SB 1070 is mean-spirited and an ineffective way to deal with the problem. It plays on people's fears and keeps us divided. I have heard firsthand accounts of police stopping people who look Latino and demanding papers, even though the law hasn't taken effect. This includes singling out a young college student here on vacation, while not asking for papers from her white peers. The laws that were passed outlawing ethnic studies and precluding teachers with "an accent" (who's to decide what that means?) nicely illustrate that the intent behind SB1070 is racial---just in case there was any doubt.
A friend who travels internationally teaching reports that people all over Europe and Latin America are shocked and offended by this law, and say they will never again vacation here, and most of you must know of the cancellation of over 40 conventions, which is costing the state millions.
When I went to law school immigration, like national defense and treaty-making, was considered a federal matter. Federal law necessarily supercedes state law on matters not reserved to the states. Immigration laws must be applied uniformly throughout the U.S., not the states each making it up as they go. SB 1070 flies in the face of the supremacy of federal law.
That having been said, Congress needs to grapple with this exceedingly complex issue and create comprehensive reform. Whether they have the political will to say so remains to be seen.

Ethnic studies for one, what do they teach in these classes, do you know? i do, they teach separatism, they teach that the southwest really belongs to mexico, they teach the the murderer che geuvara is a revolutinary hero, they teach how to protest and fly our American flags upside down under another country's banner..i could go on but you might get the point.
Ab 1070 is a mean spirited law, why is that? is it because the feds. cannot do the job of protecting Ariz. citizens? is it because if you break a law, any law, you must pay a consequence? The Federal Government is only filing this lawsuit to pander to the Left (We all know they see the Illegals as a voting base for them). As a taxpayer, I and many other who will not SPEAK outloud, are sick and tired of supporting those who come into our Country with a total disregard for our laws and draw on our system. We deserve the right to try to recoup some of the huge financial losses that these ILLEGAL immigrants have put upon us! I am glad Govenor Brewer stood up for our state., That is why she is Govenor, it is her job. (Napolitano our former govenor is in Obama's pocket and if had remained Govenor, never would of stood up for our state!)
It is fact, that our president, does not do what he was elected for. The change we have gotten is government control and debt we will never find our way out of.
Our economy is circling the drain. Illegals and their abuse of the system, are a major contributor. It's the law of the land. I would give all undocumented illegals in the country 6 months to register and apply for job status. Take your chances that you have been an asset to the USA and can stay. If not know that you will be throw out when caught NEVER to return.
For a baby born in the US to be a US citizen one of the parents must be a US citizen. This allowance of illegals to cross the border just to make sure the baby is a US citizen just fuels this whole illegal problem. There are not a lot of countries that allow this to happen any longer and it must stop in the USA.
I understand that a big percentage of the illegals here are people that their Visas have expired. Track them down and throw them out. The trouble here is the Federal Government is not and does not want to enforce their own federal laws. Unbelievable!!!
To the first question I do not think the federal government will have a case here. The only way the federal law can trump the state law is to prove that it is a impediment to the federal law. Both laws demand the same thing. Arizona even stiffened its laws to include laws about racial profiling. In my opinion Arizona law will do a better job than the federal one and in no way will it impede it or interfere with it. Secondly, the federal government in filing their own suit is proving they are not helping Arizona protect their borders and are trying to stop them from doing it themselves. The white house needs to back out of this one.
To the second question...Arizona is not footing the bill for this defense. Every state has sent money to AZ to defend this bill. If every state is for this bill why isn't the white house? Is there a hidden agenda? All I see is that AZ has been fighting for a long time to protect our borders, people are being murdered and the white house does nothing to help but files a lawsuit to stop it. There has to be an agenda here. There is no other answer for their actions.

Yes they may share the wealth with some poorer nations, but they will be using the cheap labor provided by those very nations, especially for dangerous tasks like mining (Uraninum) and drilling.

I voted. 96% of Americans who voted support SB 1070. That is an unheard of number when it comes to support. Not to mention that there have been 3,493,207 votes in SUPPORT of SB 1070. All America is behind us!
what choice does az have but to spend money to fight the lawsuit brought against it by the feds who refuse to uphold it's own immigration laws. The federal government does not have a valid case. They'd have to repeal their current law, to actually file suit against AZ. If the suit alleges that AZ is going to interfere with the federal law, the fed will have to step off, due to the fact that states rights supercede those of the fed, at least, that's what I learned in school. The fed might decide to prevent federal tax dollars from going to AZ. Nothing new there. All states live in fear of this action. As I understand it, AZ is broke now. When you sell your government buildings and then immediately lease them back, there IS a problem. I do see the benefits, no more maintenance, all done by the lessor. It does eliminate AZ jobs, though. MSNBC, not friendly to SB1070 has posted a poll. You can only vote once, good thing, because the support is at 96% now. The link for that poll is below.

Az. submitted a law that is an exact copy of fed. regulation and is probably stronger in the protection aspect of illegals. as CL stated obama is spending money to sue a state in his own republic for a job that the feds should be doing but aren't? makes sense to me. and then calderon has the balx3 to come to our country and spank our congress in their own back yard. calderon go home and take care of the ruthlessness of your own citizens, do something worthwhile with your time. i think foreign relations will survive
