Child Passenger Safety
Child Passenger Safety: Are We There Yet? Arizona’s current law is flawed by only requiring children under the age of five to be placed in a child restraint system when riding in a motor vehicle. This means that Arizona parents and caregivers, who look to the state law to provide guidance about when and how their children should be restrained, are unknowingly jeopardizing their child’s safety. Stronger laws and better education will better protect Arizona’s 700,000 children under the age of 9. State legislators can make this happen. AAA Arizona urges Arizona legislators to make a commitment to Arizona children’s safety by closing the loophole in Arizona’s child passenger safety law by passing SB 1010.
